Dr Chris Cleave

DCPsych, MA (Oxon), CPsychol

Chartered Psychologist, Psychotherapist

Welcome
I am a chartered psychologist and existential psychotherapist. I also teach therapy, and I write and speak about trauma and recovery.

Therapy with me
I offer a warm, straightforward, and inclusive therapy where adults can explore their struggles and discover new ways forward. People come with mental health concerns such as anxiety, trauma, dissociation, depression, or panic. Others seek support with life challenges, including burnout, bereavement, addiction, stuckness, isolation, and fears of many kinds.

My approach
We won't centre our work together on pathology or blame. We will explore how the world's increasing trauma is showing up in your mind and your relationships. This is an important step, because we are navigating troubled times and we mustn't underestimate the forces operating on our being. Then we can look at how you will choose to recover your human grounding – in the unique context of your personal history, your family story, your relationships, your planet and your purpose. I won't presume to give you answers or advice. I will hold a careful space for your humanity, in which you can rediscover and reconnect with your own creativity and wisdom.
